At Pacific Maintenance Services we are justifiably proud of our Window Cleaning heritage, which goes back to the company's inception in 1940's. Our many years of experience are constantly put to good use as we tackle difficult jobs on a daily basis helping us to evaluate the safest and most cost effective way of operating, even where access is a particular problem. Large or small, all our contracts will receive the same attention to detail and will reflect not only the pride we have in our work, but the service you can expect to receive.
      
Health and Safety
Mention the subject of Window Cleaning and concern will soon be raised regarding Health and Safety. You will be pleased to know that at Pacific Maintenance Services, the Health and Safety of our employees comes top of the priority list. Given the precarious situations in which they work, it is imperative that all plant and equipment comprise a safe working environment at all times. Pacific Maintenance Services not only ensures this is the case through regular spot checks, but also via the ongoing provision of information to Operatives.
Access Equipment
As some large Access Equipment is highly complex and sophisticated in its operation, it is most important that it carries the appropriate certification before being used on site.
Specialist Cleaning
Both today's environment and building development provides more and more Specialist Cleaning requirements. As well as overcoming difficult access problems, Pacific Maintenance Services has constantly proved its ability in dealing with the maintenance of a vast range of specialized finishes which are used in today's high specification buildings. This encompasses work both internally and externally, including elaborate atriums and building cladding.
Mobile Teams
The nature of our industry demands that all window cleaning units must be mobile. Pacific Maintenance Services operates Mobile Units with Wireless laptops available on a daily basis. Although these teams will have regular patterns of work, such is the flexible nature of our structure there is sufficient capacity to allow them to respond to any urgent requests or emergencies.
Static Operatives
Some sites are so large they demand full time operatives who are "static" on site but not in the nature of their work! Carrying out their duties on a fourth bridge basis, these Operatives will be totally dedicated to one site and as such are instantly available to carry out any changes to the specification that may be required. Of course if any assistance is necessary particularly with large special cleans then our mobile units will be on hand to assist.

Abseiling
Where all else fails in terms of gaining access to otherwise inaccessible areas, then it is time to call in our Abseiling Teams. Highly trained abseiling Operatives can soon provide the solution to accessing areas other methods cannot reach. Available for special cleans or as part of a routine cleaning operation, Mobil Abseiling Operatives could be the answer to those difficult areas.

Safety Equipment
Most contracts will require personal Safety Equipment to allow the work to be carried out effectively and safely. All such equipment including safety harnesses, is checked on a daily basis by the Foreman weekly by Divisional Management the equipment is used is again part intensive training the Operatives will undergo to ensure all PPE is used in the appropriate manner.
Risk Assessment
Before any new contract can commence a Risk Assessment and Method Statement are prepared, outlining any potential hazards and detailing how the job will be carried out. This information is passed to both Customer and Foreman of the Operating Team to ensure the safe procedures are maintained.

Quality Control
On the completion of each job the Foreman will seek a satisfaction note from the customer to indicate they are happy with the work carried out. From time to time management will also carry out independent Quality Checks which will be logged and made available to clients at scheduled meetings. These procedures give our customers the assurance of consistent quality and above all the knowledge that work is being carried out safely.

Innovation
Strand is always looking for more cost effective ways in which buildings can be cleaned and the Window Cleaning Division is no exception. Currently we are investigating different methods and equipment and implementing these procedures where appropriate.
